Davidsons Camp
Nestled under a grove of ancient false mopane trees, Davison’s Camp is situated on
the remote southern boundary of Hwange National Park in the private Linkwasha
concession. Named after the founder of Hwange National Park and its first warden,
Ted Davison, the camp overlooks an extremely productive waterhole that attracts a
variety of plains game and predators. This 20-bedded camp, with its 9 twin units,
1 family unit which sleeps 4 comfortably and separate main area, comprising a lounge,
dining room and an open air fire area, offers a wonderful bush experience.

The Linkwasha area includes many diverse habitats, including Kalahari savannah,
acacia woodlands, as well as palm islands and teak forests. This habitat diversity
attracts many different animal populations and over 400 species of birds and the
area is known for its abundant wildlife, particularly the predators, as well as large
herds of elephants and buffalo during the winter months.
Summer months offer a complete contrast, as many of the plains animals
(and their predators) migrate to this section of the park to enjoy the lush grazing
on the open savannah. Daily game activities include game drives in open 4×4
vehicles, or guided walks in the early mornings and evenings, while during the
siesta hours, guests can view game coming down to the waterhole to drink from
their tent veranda.

Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is just 4 kilometres from the Victoria Falls and is situated
on a plateau that forms a natural boundary to the Zambezi National Park. The
lodge offers 66 twin/double bedrooms and 6 luxury suites, all with superb views from
private balconies. Each room has an en suite bathroom with bath and shower.
The rooms are well appointed with hairdryer, telephone, safety deposit box, ceiling
fan and mosquito nets. There are two swimming pools, two restaurants, a bar,
curio shop and library for guest use. An on-site
waterhole attracts a wide variety of game, including Elephants, Buffalo, Impala
and Kudu. The lodge offers a regular complimentary shuttle service to town and
the Falls.

samara 1

With a vision to rehabilitate the once lost magnificence of the Eastern Cape’s Great
Karoo, the Samara dream is now a lifelong commitment. The Cape Mountain zebra
have found a haven and now roam the plateau pastures again while huge flocks of
the rare Blue Crane soar in the vast skies overhead and cheetah reign on the plains
once more.

Samara’s campaign of rejuvenation seeks to rediscover the haunting beauty of this
incredible landscape that generations of agricultural exploitation threatened to
mask forever. Since 1997, Samara’s main objective has been to realize the land’s
potential as an area of outstanding natural diversity and as a home to
re-introduced species. Now the land breathes more freely as its ancient rhythms
beat once again.

There are only 34 global biodiversity hotspots recognized by Conservation
International, supporting the majority of the world’s biodiversity in less than 5%
of the world’s surface area. Samara is privileged to be at the junction of two of
these; the Succulent Karoo Hotspot and the Maputoland-Pondoland-Albany
Thicket Hotspot. This places Samara at the forefront of global conservation
responsibility. In order to realize this responsibility, Samara is working closely
with a number of wildlife and conservation organizations, including De Wildt
Cheetah and Wildlife Trust and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in
Port Elizabeth

Experience this great part of the world at a “5*”special introduction
